St. Patrick's Day sure isn't what it use to be B.K. (before kids), but you know what? I wouldn't trade it for anything! We celebrated friday at Cooper's school with a snack party and bagpipe performance and again on Sunday with Nana Dee (Matt's grandma) for her 85th birthday. We had a great time, check out a few pictures:
It is hard to believe that you are 3 years old today. You are not a baby anymore which equally breaks my heart and makes me so proud of how far you have come. You are a big boy who is independent and has ideas of his own. You are the life of the party and everybody loves you!
You have grown so much this past year, I'm so amazed. I can't believe you can spell your name and and count so high! You are hands down the sweetest big brother; Owen is lucky to have you as his bro bro!
On your 3rd birthday, I am wishing you a very happy birthday and an even happier year ahead.
Taryn is my best friend. She is truly the best and with out her I'd be completely lost. I recently got to shoot her, her baby bump, and handsome husband. We had a great time and even managed to keep straight faces long enough to get the awkward shots we wanted! Stayed tuned, because baby Valentina will be my first official newborn subject, minus my own of course.
I'm sure most of you have heard by now that we lost my father-in-law a little less then two weeks ago. Richard was a kind man who gave and gave and gave. His death was unexpected and we didn't get the proper goodbye we are all craving. Just one more "I love you" or a picture of him with our boys is all I want but will never have. Richard gave me a beautiful life, the kind I always wished for, and for that I am eternally grateful.
These past 11 days have been absolutely crazy to say the least; non stop phone calls, googling "how to explain death to a two year old" over and over again, and supporting my husband as he mourns his father all while trying to provide some sort of normalcy for our children has been a bit overwhelming. Matt and I are both spread so thin that I'm afraid of what is to come once Richard's apartment is cleared out and all the "business" is taken care of.
There is one thing that I know for sure. The support from our friends and family has been humbling. The calls, facebook comments, and cards mean so, so much. Watching Matt receive such love has been so beautiful to watch. Your kind words truly make a difference, thank you.
Rest in peace Richard. Your beautiful spirit continues to live on. Please watch over us (especially Cooper & Owen) and keep us safe. We love you, miss you, and hope to make you proud each day.
I am so behind on editing pictures life it's not even funny. Between going out of town and being sick, I haven't had time to do anything. Here is my first attempt on getting back on track. We have had quite a few snow adventures, first up: Lake Arrowhead:
